We’d always recommend trying to push through until you reach a point where an auto-save is naturally triggered, though, just to make sure there’s absolutely no chance of your progress being lost. Instead, we did find that the game appeared to trigger an auto-save when we selected the ‘Quit to Main Menu’ option from the pause menu. Unfortunately, no, there’s no option to ‘Save’ from the pause menu in It Takes Two. Once this has disappeared, you’re free to exit out of the game and take a break. You’ll know when the game is auto-saving, as you’ll see a Book of Love icon appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. ![]() From our experience, the game auto-saved fairly regularly and would always do so after a cutscene or a boss fight. It Takes Two uses an auto-save feature to record your progress as you make your way through the levels. It’s a game about the hardships of getting along in a relationship, and it’s great fun whether you’re playing with a friend or a loved one. It blends an engaging narrative with an interesting world filled with little puzzles that requires both protagonists - Cody and May - to work together. It Takes Two is the quirky rom-com co-op game from developer Hazelight Studios.
